The skilled visa is a category of visa designed by the Australian Government for skilled workers and those in demand in the country, and such professional service is not easily available in the country.

This visa is designed specifically for those regional employers who struggle with labour shortages within their region. It enables them to address their labour issues by sponsoring skilled foreign workers where employers cannot source an appropriately skilled Australian worker.

If you are an immediate family member of either an Australian citizen or permanent resident, you may be eligible to apply for a Visitor Visa (Subclass 600).

As an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident or eligible New Zealand citizen you may be able to sponsor your family or partner to live in Australia with a Partner Visa.

Parents who pass the balance of family test with half or more than half number of children living permanently in Australia may be eligible for Parent Visa, which gives them Permanent Residency in Australia.

Any type of visa (permanent or temporary) may be cancelled by the Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) if you do not pass the “character test”.
